Excellent customer service
Bought sandals today in Chichester store. I was served by Sylvie who knew all about customer care - not found often these days! Chichester is the nearest town for me from Hayling Island and buying shoes online for me is a no no. It was great to have someone take time and help me. Will certainly shop there again and use my reward card. Judy Allen

I am very disappointed that I have to…
I am very disappointed that I have to pay for my return. I am not able to return to store as they have only one store in Scotland. I would never order again from this company and will advise my friends to do the same until they change to free returns.

Placed an order for size 4 sandals…
Placed an order for size 4 sandals received size 7 ok mistakes can happen was told if I returned them and paid for postage I would get this refunded received refund for sandals but not postage I know it is a very small amount but 10 days later still no bank transfer as it was not my fault in the first place I would consider their customer service non existent
Fantastic service
Fantastic service at the Warwick shop, with kind, friendly and patient staff helping me get shoes for my children.
If only I had read the reviews here…
If only I had read the reviews here first!! I bought a pair of kickers for my 4 year old daughter for school and the lining on the inside has worn away within 3 months of her having them. It’s so bad that even though she has been wearing socks the friction caused a sore to develop on her little toe. (I made sure I bought the correct size and she does not have wide feet. They were super comfortable for a while no rubbing or any other problems)
So I contacted customer service who requested to inspect the shoes so I sent them. I was so disappointed that the came back saying they couldn’t feel where the lining had worn away!! There is a hole in the lining on the inside where it has so absolutely worn away! The only reason I sent the shoes in for them to inspect was because when taking my daughter to get her a new pair of shoes from Clark’s they had a look and recommended I contacted the company I bought them from because if they had been Clark shoes they would have replaced them then and there because after three months the lining should not have worn like that, especially as they are kids school shoes and kickers are meant to be a strong shoe that will last longer then 3 months. So if your looking for good customer service I would recommend another company maybe Clark’s.
It seems from other reviewers this is what let’s this company down sadly. If I had read the reviews I would definitely have thought twice about buying from here. Lesson learnt always read the reviews!!

Would not recommend
I bought a pair of Gabor boots this week from what I believed to be the Gabor website. However, it transpires from the email contact it is actually Charles Clinkard. I looked at both Gabor and Charles Clinkard reviews so would not have purchased from them if I had known. Unusually I had a few problems ordering and customer service in the telephone and email contact was good. Delivery was quick. I ordered on Monday and received Friday. However , I m so very disappointed. These were not a sale item. I have taken photos that show the box was smashed and the suede boots are in poor condition, shiny, worn & white in many partsI believe they are probably a display item. I am not Not impressed and would not recommend. Looking at other reviews I am not happy to return them. I could have purchased a used pair on eBay for a quarter of the price

Awful, condescending and rude
Parcel arrived with nothing in it, tried to refuse it but courier wouldn’t let me and as I’m disabled couldn’t run after him. Have had nothing but unpleasant communications with the company, both inferring I got the item and that I didn’t ask questions or answer theirs fast enough, despite making the process as difficult as possible for someone whose faculties are affected by stress. I made them fully aware of my disability and yet they refused a refund in the rudest and most discriminatory way possible. So this lower income disabled person is left out of pocket and extremely upset without their goods. Shame on them

Beware of service and returns
Ordered a pair of Le Chameau wellies (£120) and when I received them, they were covered in what looked like finger prints, rubbing and dust. I contacted customer services and was told that it was blooming which I understand happens with rubber which is a natural product. This apparently can be wiped off with a cloth.
I can accept this but why were they allowed to leave Charles Clinkard in this condition? I would have thought that they should have been wiped over before they left their premises. Shoddy Service. I did query whether or not they were a return and was assured that they were not but by the amount of rubs and finger prints I am sceptical about this.
I will be returning these boots as I am not happy with the condition of them for the price I paid. I now find out like other people it is at my expense! I appreciate that some companies do charge a nominal fee for a return but this will cost me £12 or more!

I was looking online for some shoes…
I was looking online for some shoes that a family member wanted to replace - wanting the same ones. I wasn't sure what they were called because they were initially gifted. All I knew it was Clarks and I so happended to stumble on this website when I was doing a price comparision - while I did see some other ones advertised on Clarks, they were not cheaper on Charles Clinkard. But whilst browsing, I did manage to find the original shoes I was looking for on Charles Clinkard - which I didn't find on the Clarks website.
I ended up purchasing from Charles Clinkard, bit annoying that they offer free delivery over £40. My purchase was £40, and the delivery charge still applied.
I ended up finding coupon so that helped. I did consider buying the other pair of shoes from here but was a bit put off with the return policy in case the other shoes were not a good fit. I did call and was advised it would be about £3 to return, which seemed fair - but with so many companies offering free delivery or/and free returns, it was still off putting. Anyway, I put in for one pair of shoes...then I checked out Trustpilot reviews and then became nervous as I saw the average reviews and stories of people having to pay £19 to return shoes??? I was crossing my fingers the shoes I had just ordered would be OK - but was on the positive side as the recipient already had a pair and liked them so the chances of returning was pretty low.
The delivery was pretty fast. The shoe is a bit wide in one foot and perfect for the other, but they are still new so they will hopefully wear in over time.
Positive experience, but who knows had the shoes needed to be returned!
Update: I ended up having to return the shoes as there was a fault in the shoe. Returned free of charge for inspection and was exchanged promptly for a new pair! Good experience overall! Would shop here again!
I sometimes shop at their store in…
I sometimes shop at their store in Leeds. Good quality shoes and boots. Happy with the staff in the store.
Beware Returns!!!!
Bought a pair of boots £180, which were not the colour they looked online, when I went to return them I had to pay £17!! They come in a huge box with various packing (all of which has to be included in the return) and they only provide £50 compensation via CollectPlus so you have to pay more to cover the insurance cost in case they get lost in the post. I will not be purchasing from Charles Clinkard ever again. Absolutely atrocious customer service/returns policy.

£18 TO RETURN ITEMS!!! Be warned!
I just wanted to express some real disappointment at this company’s returns policy, which means I will never shop with them again.
I appreciate that returns were at my own expense (which let’s face it is pretty rubbish when the majority of retailers offer free returns these days)- however they sent my items in such a huge box that the ONLY option for me to send these back to them (bearing in mind that I kept one pair out of the three pairs of shoes that I ordered) was to send it via Parcelforce at a cost of £18!!!
I find this completely unacceptable that it cost me £18 to return items and as a result I’d never shop with this retailer again.
Good service
Easy to use website, item arrived quickly although did not get any communication re my delivery, so rate 1 star down for this. No problems with them and love the new boots I bought they fit perfect.
Don’t buy from them it will cost you expensive returns.
I have ordered 2 pairs of shoes from charlesclinkard site
both size 41 EU but they are too big for me even though that is my size. . When started looking how to return them I find out that only way I can return them is at the post office and pay for return £7 cost to myself . Also there is another option collect+ , but to print label I have to have printer, an option I don’t have Library near me is closed because of pandemic, so using the printer there is not an option . I called to customer service and ask to send me collect + return label by post. But they said that they can’t do it , which I found extremely strange. When I asked to talk to manager over the phone he(she) was conveniently unavailable.
So I left with only post office option. Only I can say it extremely uncomfortable and expensive for customers.
I usually shopping on line due to current situation but didn’t meet so far companies who not provide you with return label.
It seems like charlesclinkard site.uk absolutely careless towards customers.
